We believe that William Aitchison who married Christiana Scott, 30 Aug 1802 in Crailing, Roxburgh, Scotland emigrated from Glasgow, Scotland to Montreal, Quebec. Their first child Esther b 25 Oct 1803 (certificate) m James Lauder 16 Oct 1826 Eckford, Roxburghshire, Scotland. Could Jean, Isabella, Robert, William, James and John be Esther’s siblings??
From a Granby, Quebec land record we know that William Jr. and John Aitchison are brothers.
The Aitchison family lived in Montreal before moving to Sherbrooke, Quebec, Granby, Quebec and other locations in the Montreal area.
Both William Aitchison and his wife Christiana Scott are buried in the New Glasgow Cemetery, Terrebonne Co. Quebec. (Esther and James Lauder resided there)

My (maiden) name is June Aitchison. My gt x 3 grand parents were William Aitchison and Esther Foster (from Carham Northumberland,) who married in 1783 in Maxton near Kelso Scotland. ( Near where I now live). Their children were born in various places in the Scottish Borders as they were farm workers. I can find birth records of only 4 children, Janet,Thomas, George and John (who died in Earlston, Scotland and from whom I am descended). There might have been others, including a William. Their daughter, Janet, lived and married in Eckford where an Esther Aitchison
married a James Lauder in 1826. I found records of two of Esther and James’ children, Christian (born 1827 in Gordon, Scotland ) and Janet.(born 1829 Westruther Scotland)
